24. The Reign of the Judges

After Moses and Joshua passed away, judges continued judging the causes of the people, serving as deliverers when enemies threatened. At the time he restores end-time Israel, God again raises up judges to his people who assist in the restoration of all righteous institutions that once existed. In that day—the world’s darkest hour—these servants of God act as his people’s proxy saviors, interceding with God on behalf of his people. Thus, God delivers his end-time people from destruction “for the sake of” his servants.

Isaiah 1:25–26

I will restore my hand over you and smelt away your dross as in a crucible, and remove all your alloy. I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counsellors as in the beginning.

Isaiah 65:8–9

As when there is juice in a cluster of grapes and someone says, Don’t destroy it, it is still good, so I will do for the sake of my servants by not destroying everything: I will extract offspring out of Jacob, and out of Judah heirs of my mountains; my chosen ones shall inherit them, my servants shall dwell there.

Isaiah 32:1

A king shall reign in righteousness and rulers rule with justice.

Isaiah 28:5–6

In that day shall Jehovah of Hosts be as a crown of beauty and wreath of glory to the remnant of his people: a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment. a source of strength to those who repulse the attack at the gates.
